Dr. Tarik Kaya is a Professor at the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department of Carleton University in Canada. He received his PhD from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace, Toulouse, France in 1993. He has a wide range of research and technology development experience in fluid dynamics, propulsion and spacecraft thermal control within industry and academia. Before joining Carleton University, Dr. Kaya worked as a Research Associate at NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre.
Dr. Kaya’s current research interests includes mathematical modeling of two-phase heat transfer systems (heat pipes and loop heat pipes) for spacecraft thermal control, and miniaturization of the heat pipe technology for electronics packaging. He has taught courses in orbital mechanics, spacecraft systems engineering, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and gas dynamics.
