Abstract


Overall heat transfer coefficients of the heat exchanger inserted twisted plates for CO2 were measured. Based on the experimental result, the numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the heat transfer enhancement of the twisted plate. The overall heat transfer coefficients increased with mass flow rates of water at the same Reynolds number in the experiment. The fluid structure changed to swirl flow caused by the twisted plate in the numerical simulation. The flow velocity increased near the twisted plate due to the blockage of the flow path. The temperature distribution was affected by the helically twisting fluid motion.
