Abstract
The study compared solar dryers with hot air from a heat exchanger double furnace during the drying of white turmeric. Temperature and drying rate are higher in hot air dryers. Sun-drying and hot air resulted in changes in water content within 420 minutes, respectively from 88% to 35.88% with an average temperature of 30.91oC and from 88% to 2.7% at a temperature of 73.65-119.12oC. Dryer efficiency reached 32.81% at the beginning and 4.06% at the end. During the drying process, there is a decrease in efficiency because the energy absorbed by white turmeric decreases due to reduced moisture content.
